Lene creates Klesarven's first garment, the Viking Hood "Midgard"

The beginning of Klesarven starts with a wool Viking hood, inspired by the Skjoldehamn find in the north. To fund the first production, Lene launches a Kickstarter campaign. Supporters eagerly join in, ordering a total of 50 hoods, an incredible boost for a small startup business! Thanks to their support, the very first garments in the Viking collection come to life: a linen tunic and sark.

Lene og Matilde teams up and creates the riding skirt

The riding skirt collection marked the beginning of Klesarven’s international adventure. Designed for long days in the stable, with a beautiful fit and durable, high-quality wool made to last a lifetime, we spent the first year wrapping up and shipping riding skirts to cold riders across the globe!

The Viking Collection takes shape

In 2020, the linen sarks and tunics, today known as Frøya and Tor were joined by our very first apron dress, Draum. This viking wool dress became the foundation for the apron dress designs we offer today, known as Fryd.

Two proud entreprenours finally working full-time!

In 2022, Matilde was finally able to join Lene at Klesarven full-time, after many years of working evenings and weekends. With a dedicated full-time marketing manager on the team, things really took off! Photoshoots, social media content, video production, newsletters and customer service all began to flourish.

Klesarven opens the showroom in Andebu og is named a Gazelle business in Dagens Næringsliv

In spring 2024, we opened a small showroom at Matilde’s farm in Andebu, Vestfold. Here, customers can book a private fitting and create their dream outfit. Being able to visit in person, explore all the colors, and choose accessories, jewelry, and garments themselves is important to our customers and therefore a top priority for us.

That same autumn, we received some exciting news: Klesarven was named a Gazelle company by Dagens Næringsliv at the first opportunity. We are incredibly proud, and so excited for the journey ahead!
