Author Susanna Broomé has based all her work on archaeological finds of tunics and shirts. Luckily, we have lots of information about these garments, due to several finds which have been dated back to the early and late Viking Age. In addition, the finds from Haithabu and Birka provides us with information about the detailing. When it comes to the length of these shirts, we rely on pattern and figures. These are not full-scale patterns, but they can easily be adapted using your personal measurements.
